There are three new Servers added as a means of backup if one fails. Two are located in Europe (Germany & Russia) while the other is located in Asia (Japan).
In addition to the above, a fourth Server was added to the roster to cater for those who reside in Russia.
If you use Wavelab 7, rest assure Sir Elliot’s plug-ins were tested and, functions to spec in Windows XP, Vista, in addition to Windows 7.
This video demonstrates Wavelab 7 operating under high sample rates on Windows XP (non-service pack) on a single-core (not recommended by the manufacture) 2.8 GHZ, Pentium 4 CPU using Sir Elliot’s 1977 Preamplifier.
Latency Mon is a simple tool that confirms if your computer is suitable for real-time audio streaming.
If you are experiencing sudden glitches using Window Vista or Windows 7 while mixing or mastering your music, there may be something running in the background not affiliated to your digital audio workstation draining your CPU consumption.
This tool is for the experienced computer user. If you encounter a process you are unfamiliar with, you should search for the process using your preferred search engine to know what it is before disabling the process.
Latency Mon is free and was designed for Windows Vista and Windows 7 only.
As with the Brass Instrument Equaliser HD in addition to the 1977, the SL-1 offers protection circuitry.
The SL-1 protection circuitry prevents any overshoots beyond a certain dB level. In the event such an overshoot occurs, the relay system will disengage the outputs. You will have a few seconds to reduce the “Gain” contour on the SL –1 before the relay system engages the outputs. You can also increase the “Compress”, “Ratio” and/or “dB Limit” to remedy the problem.
This type of protection circuitry is common with amplifiers when they are severely overloaded under low impedance loads or if something catastrophic has occurred within the circuitry like, dumping DC on the outputs, which will destroy your speakers in a matter of seconds.
All plug-ins ranging from the 1977 onward will offer a means of protection circuitry. Older plug-ins will also be updated with protection circuitries in the coming months.
The Video below demonstrates the SL-1 Protection Circuitry. If you downloaded the 1977, the video enclosed in the zip file demonstrates the 1977 protection circuitry.
My vst plug-in’s are being uploaded to a European Server. As with Rayfile, there will be a blog designated in the European region to make downloading my designs more convenient.
With a Server in Asia, the United States and now Europe, dare I say, Sir Elliot’s plug-ins will be available internationally throughout the global region.
With 80% of my Downloads stemming from Europe, not adding a European server to the roster would be a poor decision from a distribution perspective.
The new Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure Server (https) will be introduced on the release date of the SL-1.
